Harris Self-Catering Cottage/BlackhouseIsle of Scalpay & Harris Self Catering: Self-catering accommodation on the Isles of Scalpay and Harris is truly awesome. At Scarista on the Isle of Harris is home to a selection of different types of self catering accommodation ranging from the, fully modernised, blackhouse to the left to the old (but again fully modernised to the highest of standards) stone built house and the converted cottages shown below.

Of all of the accommodation available in the Hebrides the most interesting is the incredible blackhouse at Borvemore Studios on the Isle of Harris. Built to the traditional design this cottage is highly popular so book early.

Self Catering on The Isle of HarrisVallay House is (shown right) was built around 1750 but is now fully modernised with all of the facilities you would expect of such quality accommodation. Vallay House, and the Steading Cottages below, are suitable for groups of visitors to the Hebrides. Vallay House offers room for five people with an additional pull out bed for emergencies. Borvemor Steading Cottages (shown below) has superb accommodation for upto five or six people. These two self-catering cottages offer 4-5 star accommodation with excellent facilities.
